I have pretty healthy kiddos. I am grateful for their health everyday. Today I was even more grateful as I held my almost 2 year old while she puked 11 times. Yes from the wonderful waking hour of 4:30 am to the early afternoon of 1:45pm she successfully puked 11 times. There was a 2 hour break from about 9:30 to 11:30 where she slept. So technically she puked 11 times in a 7 hour period.
I know I might be a little crazy for counting the number of times she did this but it was a bit frightening and I wanted to be able to answer any doctor's questions if asked. Plus I did 3 loads of laundry with enough towels and clothing items to fit a small family for at least 4 days. I have never been puked on so many times in my life. Seriously one time I thought I was going to vomit along with her it was so nasty as it ran down my shirt. Oh the joy of being a mom.
It was a rough day as we watched movies on the couch with her puke bucket and liquids. She laid so lifelessly it was sad to see. As she rested between vomit sessions she would say to me in her sad little voice "Mommy tell me what to do." I so wanted to take it all away from her and make her better instantly. When she fell asleep on my chest after the 11th puke I kept hoping it would be the last.
Thankfully it was and she was all smiles when Daddy came home. Which allowed me to get ready for my meetings this evening. She went to bed without puke and let's hope it stays that way. My day was less then productive and so sad for us both. Plus I want her to be better by Friday for her big birthday...yep...she will be 2.
