Time with Grandma and Grandpa Peel (Summer 2008)

Okay we spent 2 weeks with Grandma and Grandma at the end of July. Justin had just turned 7 and Sariah was 2 months old. We had a great time with them. Daddy and Sariah

From Day 1 Grandpa could get smiles out of Sariah

She looks so little in these pictures with them.

Where did all Sariah's hair go?

Fishing with Grandpa Jim (Summer 2008)

I have been meaning to get our pictures from the 2 week summer time with Grandma Jeannie and Grandpa Jim posted. Since they are going to be here tomorrow just for the day and I will have a bunch more pictures with them. I need to get them posted before it is too late. We had a lot of fun with James' Grandparents. We spent a lot of the time with them in Bridgeport. While we were there the boys went fishing. Justin loved his time learning how to fish. Grandpa taught him how to cast a line and Dad taught him how to bait a hook. With all the expert lessons Justin was a pro and the only one who actually caught a fish the one morning they went out.

Grandpa even went out and picked up the fish Justin caught on the practice casting.

We love Grandpa!

Grandma came out to learn from the pro.

Justin was awesome at casting on land.

Yes it's a little guy but the one and only that was caught.

Pumpkin Carving Night (FHE)

Family Home Evening this week was an evening of pumpkin carving. We only did one pumpkin this year and most likely will only do one until the kiddos are big enough to do their own. James is the family carver with the patience to do only one pumpkin anyway. We don't have the best tools so it takes some time to get it all done. The pictures uploaded in a random order and I don't really have the time to organize them right now. (Getting the house clean before we have guests tomorrow is taking up most of my time. )
Sariah wasn't the biggest fan of the carving event but she let me take a few pics.

Is it done yet?

Pulling out the guts.

Is this pic already on here?

Please put me to bed.

More guts.

I have cute kids.

Pics from the weekend

So Justin's school had a Halloween Carnival on the 24th and the 3 of us dressed up. Justin was a ninja, Sariah a lady bug, me a butterfly, and James was dressed as himself...the bug catcher. He is not pictured because someone had to take the pic with my camera. We will get a better picture of us all on Halloween. Sariah was not a fan of staying up late for the carnival.

Oh the joy of a baby.

I Am

My amazing friend Anna is working on her Master's Degree in Drama Therapy and shared the "I Am" poem format on her blog from one of her homework assignments. Anna has inspired me in many ways and so I thought I would try it out to see what I can come up with...

I AM:
I am loving and loved
I wonder how it is all going to turn out in the end
I hear snowflakes singing
I see time stand still
I want eternity
I am loving and loved

I pretend not to care
I feel butterfly kisses
I touch a growing soul
I worry that I will mess it all up
I cry cause I really do care
I am loving and loved

I understand my choices
I say the rest of forever
I dream about it too
I try to be patient
I hope for it to be a reality
I am loving and loved

Try it out for yourself and see what you think...if needs be I can tag you so you can feel obligated to do it. It's pretty theraputic and uplifting. So if you are taking the time to read this long post, will you please do an "I Am" poem on your blog and let me know so I can come read it. Here is the format below.

I AM:
I am (two special characteristics you have)
I wonder (something you are especially curious about)
I hear (an imaginary sound)
I see (an imaginary sight)
I want (an actual desire)
I am (the first line of the poem repeated)

I pretend (something you actually pretend to do)
I feel (a feeling about something imaginary)
I touch (an imaginary touch)
I worry (something that really bothers you)
I cry (something that makes you very sad)
I am (the first line of the poem repeated)

I understand (something you know is true)
I say (something you believe in)
I dream (something you actually dream about)
I try (something you really make an effort about)
I hope (something you actually hope for)
I am (first line of the poem repeated)

Miscellaneous Cuteness

I don't know about you but I love taking and looking at pictures of my kiddos. I really think they are the cutest things on this earth and so entertaining. Here are some pictures from the past week and a half that I don't have any particular thing to post about.

Sariah is starting to keep her smiles long enough for me to capture with the camera phone.

One morning it was particularly cold on our walk so I put her winter snow suit on...isn't she so cute with her little cat whiskers.

Can you tell it's a little big?

On last Saturday we had to drive out to James' work to switch cars. It is a good 30 minute drive and Justin fell asleep in the back seat. I thought it was so cute how he fell asleep against Sariah's car seat. She kept pushing on his head with her foot...I think she wanted him to wake up.

In this one she is trying to hold his hand...after I took this one he finally woke up when she kicked him a little bit harder then before.

Another day in the Bumbo with Justin.

Lots of giggles occur.

I can't believe that she is already 5 months old! Wow.
